Quick Read Adoption Requirements.
It's important that potential adopters be aware of SFES adoption criteria. We'd love for each horse to find their own home BUT many are unridable or have medical issues. And, because we are primarily a sanctuary, we have strict adoption requirements.
1) Horses are only adopted in pairs of in a home which already have horses.
2) We do not approve adoptions into boarding facilities.
3) Most of our horses have lived through great trauma. The adoption must be a great fit and the adopter must be willing to support their medical issues if they have any.
4) Adopters must come and get to know and even work with the horse before an adoption can be approved. We'll help you. We'll train you. We will do all we can to ensure that each horse is safe and emotionally ready to transition.
